Dr. Md Abu Raihan
Professor
Professor Dr. Md. Abu Raihan has been working in
the Department of Technical and Vocational Education (TVE) under the Faculty of
Science and Technical Education (FSTE) of Islamic University of Technology
(IUT) since 2004. He served as Head of the Department (HOD) of TVE for three
years (2018-2021). Also, he has worked as an Associate Professor, Assistant
Professor, and Lecturer in the TVE Department of the esteemed University. While
serving the University, Prof. Raihan has achieved a number of distinguished
awards throughout his career such as awarded KGS: Korean Government Scholarship
and received the Degree Ph.D. in Technical Education from the Kongju National
University, South Korea; award received for exemplary activities from NIIED:
National Institute for International Education, Ministry of Education Science
and Technology, South Korea; awarded the OIC full-scholarship for acquiring the
Degrees MSc and PGDTE in Technical Education; awarded the OIC full-scholarship
for achieving the Degree BSc in Mechanical Engineering; received stood first
award from the N.S. Government College for scholastic result in the Higher
Secondary Certificate Examination. He secured first division with distinction
in the Secondary School Certificate Examination from the Natore Government
Boys' High School in 1996. Prof. Raihan has succeeded in 'First Class' Degrees
all through his educational career. He is an author and co-author of more than
80 peer-reviewed publications, including a textbook author entitled
"Effective Teaching-Learning" published in 2019. He is a scholar
of the NIIED, South Korea, and an alumni member of the Korean Government
Scholarship Program (KGSP), and a member of the IUT alumni association
(IUTAA). Prof. Raihan is the fellow member of the Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh
(IBE) and the member of the Bangladesh Society of Mechanical Engineers
(BSME). Aside from his professional life, Prof. Raihan is an avid outdoorsman
and a committed family person who values and appreciates from families,
friends, students, and his rural district Natore roots. His Father is Prof. Md.
Abdul Wahed, Principal, Bagatipara Government Degree College, and Mother Hasina
Banu, Headmaster, Natore Government Boys' High School, and other family members
of Prof. Raihan are teachers thus he has born and brought up in the modest
dynasty of teachers'. The better half of Prof. Raihan is Dr. Afroza Chowdhury,
MBBS (Neuro-medicine). Prof. Raihan is a lovely father of sons Ahnaf
Rayyan, Aryan Rushnan and daughter Afra Rahma.
